To grant file access, you must have edit access on the file you want to share.When people leave a Chat space, they lose access to the files in that Chat space if they don’t have sharing access:.If you grant access to that Chat space, people who join the space later also gain access to the shared files.When you send a file to a Chat space, a prompt to grant access appears. ![]() In the message field, paste the link you copied.Right-click on the file you want to share with a Chat space.Select the file you want to share with a Chat space.At the bottom left, click Integration menu Drive.Select the Chat space you want to share the file with.To share files with a Chat space, you can add the file you want to share to that Chat space. Tip: Before a file appears in the “Shared with me” folder, you must open that file from an invitation or a link. Remove a member from a group: That person loses permission to access the files and folders that the group has.Add a member to a group: That person gains permission to access the files and folders the group has.Tip: If your document is not ready to edit offline, an explanation will appear.You can share files with Google Groups instead of specific people. At the top, next to the file title, click See document status.On your computer, open a file in Docs, Sheets, or Slides.Check if a document is ready for offline use Tip: You can also make a file available offline by opening a Google document, spreadsheet, or presentation, and clicking File Make available offline. A check mark will appear in the bottom left corner to show that the file is available offline. On the file you want to use offline, click More.Follow the steps above to turn on offline access in Google Drive.To manually select files to save offline: If you have enough storage, some of your most recent files will be automatically saved offline.
